Drawers

I found a chest of six drawers that didn’t fit under the bed. So I sawed the top off and now they do.

I only need one drawer for my clothes, but the girlfriend will probably need more than the remaining five for her clothes, handbags, shoes, earrings, make-up, hairdryer etc.

Space in the back for bags & tools

I can imagine lying in that bed with the door up in the middle of a storm, gazing out over the horizon and feeling gratitude to whoever decided to keep me dry by designing the door to open upwards and be a roof..

.. however if it wasn’t raining it would also be nice to use the door as a balcony / deck, if only it opened downwards.. Ok I think we’ve learnt a valuable lesson here – when buying a truck: get one that has a back door that opens half up half down. That way you have a sheltered balcony.
